Everyday Structures

We are going to start a new unit on 2d and 3d shapes. We are going to be building structures.

Structures are: playgrounds, furniture, buildings and natural structures (structures animals build). In these structures we see shapes: circles, squares, triangles.

When you are out and about with your child, point out the shapes you see such as square windows, round man holes, etc. to make your child become aware of all the shapes that are around us.
